The artist inhabits Baloise Park transitional spaces, embodying behaviors of videogame characters as both a conceptual and performative tool. The idle postures are not passive but tactical: Lux stages presence as a conscious occupation of time and space, holding a position in anticipation of something that may never occur, while being compelled to move forward, caught in a loop.
[AFK] away from keyboard* premiered at the opening of the group exhibition Future Reflections, curated by Tuula Rasmussen at Kunstforum Baloise Park on June 19, during Art Basel 2025.
The performance unfolded throughout the foyer, lobby, and exhibition room of the Baloise Süd building, located at Aeschengraben 33, Basel. It was presented in dialogue with the works from the Baloise Art Collection by Elise Corpataux, Candida Höfer, Geert Goiris, Saskia Olde Wolbers, Paula Santomé, and Jeff Wall and with invited artists such as Jiajia Zhang, Louisa Gagliardi and Olga Hohmann in collaboration with Courtesy.
Future Reflections, curated by Tuula Rasmussen, invites viewers to become aware of the interplay between present and future and to reflect on their own role in the fabric of time.
